Saw this nicely feathered sanderling this weekend at Jones Beach. I reported the band/ spotting on the USGS web site.

It turns out this bird was banded in Peru, about 3600 miles away as the crow flies. USGS fowarded my reporting and image to the bander in Peru. Hoping for a reply with further details on the bird.
