If you want CPL at 12mm, any 150mm filters will do.
Fotodiox has 145mm rounded filters so they are smaller than the 150mm squares from NiSi and others companies.

I'm selling my Fotodiox filter set but I guess I will wait to see how their adapter looks first.

Oh yeah I had the Nisi for my Tamron 15-30mm was just wishful thinking to fins some cap mounted CPL instead of going with the big ones

Wow, these new front clip-on filters have got my attention.

I just purchased one as well. I wanted to get the 10 Stop but looks like that is not yet available though they are taking orders for them

Cost is very reasonable if the 6 stop works well I will get more though I noted on their site I saw most orders ship free but of course for my USA address it was not free shipping.
I went with the EMS shipping method which added about $25 ; EMS is usually very fast though so expect I will get it next week.

I added a slim 77mm filter empty to my Breakthrough CPL for a little extra room for mounting gaffers tape the good stuff around it and seems to fit nicely and still able to rotate filter. My guess 15mm will work maybe 14mm. I have a clip on ND coming this week. Try that out as well but I think m going to sell my NIsi 150 holder and my Haida CPL and 6 stop ND. Anyone interested let me know. I only used it for testing so they are brand new. Raising money for maybe a 50mm lens or the 100-400

It's basically the same idea of adding the felt or flocking and it works.

Here is another solution just came to market today. It's a 6-stop clip-on ND filter that goes before the lens so it will work with all our lenses. I'm not sure if it induces field curvature or if it will work with the 12-24/4 from 12mm but it's another alternative to big 150mm filters.

It does not seem to vignette even at 12mm at first impression. What changed is how the lens if focused.

This is a 1mm clip-on glass before the lens (right in front of the sensor) so it alters the distance markings on the lens. (or the camera digital distance scale)

For instance, the 12-24 @12mm normally reaches infinity at 10m (at least on my copy). With the clip-on it reaches infinity at 0.6m. The good news is that it reaches infinity and the subject still looks sharp.

I will check some test images I just took to see if there is any change to field curvature.

Bad news: I was afraid that the 1mm glass before the lens would slightly influence field curvature but it's much worse than what I thought. It worsens field curvature and introduces astigmatism as well.

So, if you focus on center, the corners go to mush territory and vice versa. I only tried at f/4 but it looks like this won't be an optimal solution for this lens.

UPDATE: I just tested at smaller apertures up to f/11 and the corners and mid-field did improve a bit but the results are FAR inferior than using a front ND filter on this lens. Your milage may vary but for landscapes this is unusable.

For the 12-24/4G, I would either go 150mm to filter the entire range or use the 77mm trick to filter this lens from 14-24mm.

Oh well I guess I'll stick with the 150mm filters and the 77mm with felt for those lighter outings.

I wonder if the clip on will work better with other lens not so wide?

Oh, that is not good to hear.
I would have had mine today but was shipped signature required and I was not home to sign for it.
I am never going to use an ND filter at F4 so hopefully the results will improve at F11 or similar area which is where I would be using an ND filter?

Since I won't be using the clip-on filter, I finally had some time to add the felt piece to my B+W 77mm C-POL slim filter.
I cut around 1/4" felt (10 inches long) and apply to the bottom section of the filter. (the section that does not rotate)

I did the same for my Breakthrough 6-stop ND filter.

With the 6-stop ND filter there is no mechanical vignetting starting at 14mm. With the C-POL, it starts at 15mm. (14mm there is very slightly shading on the very tip of the corner)

I received the felt tape from amazon on Sunday and did the same process as described by Fred above to a Thin 77mm Singh Ray CPL. It works great and I can easily rotate the CPL while it sits inside the 12-24 G's hood. Mine is totally fine starting at 15mm with very slight vignetting in the tips of the corners at 14mm. I have a new Breakthrough 10 stop 77mm ND filter coming today and will apply the felt tape to it as well. This makes the use of the 12-24 G much more flexible for those times when you want to leave the big bag with the 150mm filter system at home but still get the most out of the 12-24 G.

Here is another set of interesting factors to ponder. I have the 12-24 G, 24-70 GM and the 16-35 GM. If I use my NiSi 12-24 G adapter with the 150mm ND, GND and CPL Filters on my 12-24 G, I can also use them with my 24-70 GM. The adapter slides onto the 24-70's front with out the hood perfectly. I've checked it out and there is a very faint vignetting in the tips of the corners at the 24mm focal width easily corrected in post but no vignetting at any other focal length from about 25-26 mm to 70mm. So I can take the NiSi holder and filters and I don't need separate ones for the 24-70 GM. Unfortunately the NiSi doesn't fit the front of the 16-35 GM lens, it's just a bit bigger than the front of the 24-70 GM. I'd really have to give some thought to keeping both the 16-35 GM and the 24-70 GM if the filter worked with all 3 lenses. Now I'm going to test the 16-35 GM against the 24-70 GM at 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm focal lengths to see which lens looks the best for landscape and travel shooting. I will always take my Loxia 50 and either the Batis 85 or the 100-400 GM so with the 24-70 GM it is really nice having the greater than 35mm focal lengths but not mandatory.

Anybody else in the situation with these 3 zooms?

I have a feeling the 24-70GM will do noticeably better at 24mm, 28mm and 35mm focal lengths at wider apertures. After f/5.6, they should be comparable. I see more field curvature on the 16-35GM so precise focusing is crucial.

Thanks Fred I'll try some testing over the next couple of days. I'm hopeful your hunch is correct and the 12-24 G and 24-70 GM pair will be great together over the 12mm to 35mm focal lengths. The fact that the NiSi adapter works with both these lenses is a real plus for when I want to do some serious landscape work and carrying the bigger filter system will be more practical. But that felt tape trick on the 77mm filters really saves the day for those lighter carry days.

Good gaffers tape works real well as well. Not duct tape the real deal cost about 25 dollars a roll

to bump this thread, I've been experimenting, I have a cheapo 77 stacked with hollowed out thin CPL (junk I had laying around).

this is a safer method as you wont accidentally bump 12mm in the field, however it only gives you 16mm.

I have an idea to use a stepdown ring to stop when 12mm is in range, however havent had the time. Anyone care to experiment? Guinea pigs anyone?

for now, having 16-24 filtered on tap, I feel like I'm in great shape.
