Short story there once was 5 about 22 years ago now they are down to three but these creatures come visit around dusk to settle in and look for some food. Over the years Ive seen them on my next door neighbors roof. They are huge and I really need to get serious and try to shoot them at some point. Im totally out gunned here but I had to shoot it anyway. I m armed with a A7rII and a Batis 135 in crop mode standing on a cocktail table. Yea I would not be taking clients money on this one.
But for fun and too share what the heck. To top off even more not the best time I'm grilling two steaks for me and my wife. She covered for me

You know thats a great idea. i could get a little closer i think there is a wash I could be sitting in about another 30 yards closer. Of course I might get a snake visitors, coyote or worse Javelina and I got plenty Javelina cruising back there. This is the Wild West you know.
Wow! They are amazing creatures, and the capture was definitely worth sharing. There is something about grabbing the quick snapshot framing in the suburban setting that makes the owls even more startling than if they were perfectly framed in isolation against the sky.
