Just wanted to post to show the shrimp and see if one of the images would look acceptable.

It was a blast shooting these terns at low tide with the gimbal head....so smooth.

This was my first go-round with this. Anxious to get back out there when everything is right.

Set up tripod and gimbal at the edge of low tide, overlooking ripples in the sand....because that is where the terns kept showing an interest in.

I was surprised they were fishing such shallow water....literally 1-3 inches deep.

Then this one image showed me what they were after. I see the image did not hold up too well to the crop. Also, there a touch of sharpening attempted. Could have set up closer to these guys.

Come on D850 !!!

With the cryptic coloration, I could never see one of these shrimp against the sandy, pebbly bottom. But I am sure there are many of them. One of the terns was banded.

Nature is so fascinating.

Love seeing the shrimp with the water droplets ... yes nature is wonderful to see through our captures

Good looking image Robert. Crop before sharpening and then sharpen to get a better looking image. The eyes are hard to define in many images so you have a good quality capture as they are clear. Which gimble did you get?

Looks like a good crop to me Robert. Great shot of the little shrimpy😊
Make sure to shoot a few bursts, you never know what the camera will see that you don't in those micro-seconds!

Hi Karl

That is what I have learned too. I keep it on high speed and when the instant comes, I give a short burst....never can tell. Thanks.

Good job Robert. There are many ways to sharpen. I normally will do a small amount before cropping, and then another small amount after I crop ~ Ron
