After seeing so many great images posted here by the locals (you know who you are), I finally had a chance to visit Nickerson Beach. Big thanks to Greg Gard for his generous and thoughtful advice and blog. Common Terns from the morning; American Oystercatchers from the afternoon. Comments/criticism/advice always appreciated.

Excellent results! Can't pick a fav...I like them all! I found Nickerson on the map....unfortunately it's a bit of a drive from Tn!

Thanks, Karen! I feel your pain--shorebird photography in northern Alabama is something of an oxymoron. But Nickerson is about a 20 min drive from JFK (when there's no traffic of course).

It just goes to show what proper technique, exposure and use of equipment and talent can produce!

These are excellent images in every way, nice work and you have earned my vote Greg

However it would be nice to see something of a comp with more environment for me..........
