Oh, I like this a lot, Bob! Patterns in nature and also colors. Number 2 is the best in the series IMO. Maybe because it's the color or probably because of it's a more tightly clustered formation?

As an aside, do you know why some are green and some are red? I have seen orange lichens as well.
