p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Proxy Falls

Having recently moved from Salt Lake City to Bend, OR my photography will indeed take a turn from southwest desert scenes to lush green waterfalls and mountain lakes with a splash of the coast. I wanted to get out and try my hand at one of the more famous (overshot) waterfalls of the area; Proxy Falls. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking. All C&C is readily accepted and appreciated.

Hey Brock,

That should be a fun change. #1 is my favorite followed by #4.

nice shots! i did the EXACT opposite as you did (PDX to SLC) two years ago, and haven't missed it one bit. Change is good, and i spend 20 of my first 35 years in Oregon - and a change was needed, since life is too short to spend it all in one spot!

if you need tips on places to shoot, let me know.

Welcome to Oregon! 2 and 4 for me, those views are much more indicative of the awesome height of lower proxy but for some reason are not as commonly seen among the many shots of this spot that have been posted here. Nice job keeping the colors real on these.

These are well done, Brock. I never have a problem with a quality shot of an icon. I especially like the light and comp of the 2nd.

Thanks Heron! Its a lovely state you've been able to call home for some time. I had only previously seen the close up shots of Proxy and was taken back by just how tall it actually was! The light was just too good to pass up for #2 while on my way out of the falls.

Thanks for that! The light in #2 is my favorite as well

2nd and 3rd are my favorites. 2nd adds a bit of forest magic by adding a view into hidden paradise far away while 3rd captures the whole majesty in one piece with some added flow viewed from downstream.

Beautiful set. I love #1 and #2.

On #1 I would have liked to see a bit more faster shutter speed reducing the amount of blur in water. I have seen it creates more details within the rocks with water over it, adding to overall contrast.

Light on #2 is soo beautifully captured with light on the right and white cascade on the left, keeping ones eyes toggle back and forth!!

The second one for me! I love the light and the juxtaposition between the tree and the falls, gorgeous!
