On friday I had some friends visit from Texas. They had wandered around looking for bears for the week and did not find any. So I volunteered to find them some bears if they could get up at 4AM. Me, mom dad and 13 year old.

The first bear I found I thought they were going to miss - it was 5 feet away out the car door and they missed it. It walked right by their noses. But too close they were looking far.

But then we found a mating pair with a competing female. Not great pictures because I had to drive and make sure the texans survived but it was an interesting morning. Not sure if it was appropriate for 13 year old.

Thanks Ron. The bears almost jumped out at us. The girls were competing heavily for attention. And the boy could not decide who to chase. Glad you like the pictures. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

That's a lot of loving Scott! If the 13 year old understood what was happening then it's OK and if the 13 year old did not then he/she did not know what was happening. I suspect the first.

All humour aside, it was/is a lucky thing to capture grizzlies in such activity. It was a thrill relative to the rarity of finding the events. And interesting from a grizzly enthusiast.

jdc562: Well they do poop in the woods too. Thats how I found them by looking for scat and then looking for bears. But its rare for them to show what else they do in the woods. Glad you like the photo documentation. Much appreciated. Scott
