I've created a little AF-C sequence using the a9 with an MC-11 adapter and the monstrous Sigma 120-300/2.8 (actually a bit scary for some people, they believe they are being shot with a canon)

In this album https://flic.kr/s/aHskXH6zrE you'll find some pics like this :

The images are completely unedited and it was a rainy day with the camera choosing between 400 and 800 ISO. Focus was actually spot-on using AF-C and Lock-on AF.

Here is another album https://flic.kr/s/aHsm3gXtjj using the same lens but with the Sigma 1.4 TC.

Would you comment upon the focusing speed in comparision to its native camera mount!

The focussing speed was very good (may be a bit slower than the 70-200GM I also used that day) and both AF-C and Lock On worked very well. That said I was only able to use 10FPS.

When using AF-S it's playing lottery and not reliable at all.

I also took some shots with an 2x adapter and IQ was absolutely usable
