heading on a quick 5 day backpacking trip to the san juan mountains, and am making a list of things i might need. I have 5 Sony NP-FW 50 batteries, which may last me the whole trip - but may not. I do have a solar panel, but might take 100 years to charge and not the most dependable route to go.

my buddy is flying in, and he has an inverter - which i am sure he will bring. I also have access to a Goal Zero Yeti 100/400 charger, but last option.

I do have a cigarette lighter phone charger that has a fuse, but was wondering if that is a dicey way to go? I totally forgot that the A7r could be charged via USB. I came across this.... https://www.talkemount.com/threads/on-the-go-charging.14869/

works fine. If you want a more safe approach, you can use the cig lighter to charge wasabi dual battery charger. It's a super small charger, and nice to have 2 batteries topped at all times, I can just swap when I need to.

I've had no issues charging via car charger designed for phones directly to a7r/a7rii

good to know. I have two different model Sony chargers as well. May take the Goal Zero just in case, but will see how the 12V charger will do

That will work but will take longer.

This is what I would take (or a normal charger and maybe an AA charger too).

I wouldn't want to use it to charge a depleted battery but for topping up works a treat.

Another option is to get a external power pack to provide the extra needed power just in case. The Anker Powercore 10000 for example will weigh less than 200 grams, cost you only aboud USD 25,=, and allows you to get approx 4 full NP-FW50 charges. It will also charge your phone or other electronic devices.

I'm heading on a 4 week trip without electricity and will rely on a small solar panel, onr 20.000 mAh powerpack, one 10.000 mAh powerpack and 8 NP-FW50 batteries.
