Tamron just announced a 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HSD (APS-C Format) lens due out next month for Canon and Nikon mounts.

Their website states that the focal length range of 18-400mm and 22.2 zoom has an ultra telephoto range equivalent to 620mm in the 35mm format. Does that also mean FX format?

I assumed its the crop factor of the APSC, but that would be 1.6*400=640 for Canon ....

awesome.. thanks!.. the zoom, price and weight of the lens is what attracted me!..I am old and don't want to lug a 5 lb lens around with me! lol
I have been eyeing the Nikon 200-500 and the Tamron 150-600 G2.
This new lens is half the price and the sample images look decent! I am not a pro. It's a hobby with a few print sales now and then, so this is looking like something that might be too good to pass up and to add to my collection. I shoot with a Nikon D300 and a D610
