| p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Questions for people who have spent time at Brooks Falls. | |
I'm going to be spending one night at Brooks Falls in the middle of July and want to make sure I'm fully prepared to get the best shots possible. I have a few questions I was hoping to ask fellow photographers who have been lucky enough to shoot here:
1. Is it possible to shoot in good light? Sunrise is 5:25am and sunset is at 11:30pm, I'm guessing maybe the viewing platform isn't open during these hours?
2. How does it work with getting let onto the viewing platform? How long do you get on there? Is it hard to get a good position? Assuming you only have a limited time on the platform, how long before you can get back on again? How much time can I realistically expect to shoot there if I fly in during the morning and fly out the following afternoon?
3. What focal length is best for Brooks Falls? I'm currently shooting on an A7R II and unfortunately, the new 100-400 doesn't come out until after my trip. That leaves me with a 70-200 f2.8. I'm considering renting a Canon 100-400 and converter but I generally try to avoid converting lenses.
Any other tips you have would be greatly appreciated!
