pizdets17: Nice picture.

As I think I have told you, I usually only try for sunrises at Vermillion. Its nice to see what colour is available at sunset.

Yes, I would love to do sunrise but that means leaving my house at 3 am, not really a family outing like this was. I have done it when staying in Canmore and area, this was actually the first sunset in Vermillion I've done in about 5 years. Thanks for your help

A fine shot. For me I would try a crop off some of the bottom to get the shoreline horizon a bit lower.

Thank you. I wanted to fit the whole cloud reflection in the water, but will look at it again

While I really like the top half of the image with the great treeline running across the image and the terrific landforms, I am not crazy about what the slow shutter has done to the water. The blur of the mountain's reflection on the right resembles 'out of focus' to me though the result is probably exactly as you intended. The motion in the sky, on the other hand, looks great.

Hi Dimitri,

I see a very strong composition in the left third to half of the photo. The rock mirrors the cloud's shape, and this makes for a beautiful cohesive image. The right hand mountain is a strong draw but bifurcates the image and draws the eye away from the subtle sunrise light in the cloud.

Thanks for the feedback! Water had a ton of ripples due to many geese in it, that why used Sony's Smooth Reflection app.

Thanks for the comment Tim! Mt Rundle is the main feature of this location so I wanted to make sure its in the image.

I don't have one, water was really ugly with the geese flopping around so it was not a pleasing composition. This was a 64 shot blend to get the water still.

The SR app is so cool isn't it? I have found that to get better water in a case like this, the base exposure needs to be a little longer to smooth the water more as a base, as someone said it almost looks OOF in the reflection, I am wondering if a longer base exposure would have made for a better reflection...either way, I like it.
