Very nice, Jeffrey. I drove out that way last week and almost hit some people standing in the middle of the road, taking selfies with the flowers!
I know the flower displays are beautiful, but that doesn't mean you abandon all common sense when around them.
Not to divert the thread, but I saw the same thing, including on the narrowest part of Hwy 58, where it winds through the narrow canyon just before Carrizo. People had actually parked their van in the middle of the highway and gone off to photograph the flowers! Then a semi-truck hauling a bull-dozer came around the bend preceded, luckily, by a "WIDE LOAD" escort truck. Suddenly there were lots of sirens and flashing lights. Thank god the haulers were safety trained, or the bull-dozer would have had to scrape the idiot photographers off the pavement.
This whole thing was repeated at the junction of Elkhorn Rd and Hwy 58, where multiple photographers were parked halfway on the road, with their open car doors extending well into the roadway. More lights and sirens as the clueless photographers raced to to shut their doors.
I wonder if there's a class action Darwin Award?
