p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Dinner is served (Hooded merganser with frog)
This is the last subset of my recent duck pics. The pair had moved into the shade and I noticed quite a commotion. Despite the low light, I knew I could still blow the whites and of course the Mrs. is pretty dark in her own right. The action was fast and I get so darn excited I forget to make adjustments on the fly. Anyway, dinner for one. He was not into sharing...

Even with the whites clipped the action is great Kim. 3 is my pick as the leg position dose it for me and then there are the drops of water flying to add to the drama.

Grenouille and then some! Nice capture, I'm sure the frog was not very hoppy
Eric
Thanks Eric. I'm guessing you're right--that frog was not a hoppy camper!

Thank you Morris. It was late-afternoon and I thought I was nearing the end. I was glad I waited a few more minutes.
ETA: I agree with you on #3, Morris. Definitely the one that's worth 1,000 words (or less )

beautifully done, Kim. loved the circle of life captured.
Thanks KD. It's not so great for the frog but certainly a fact of life that was interesting to see and document.

What an amazing sight to witness, let alone capture in these wonderful images! Great work, Kim!
Thank you mitesh. I wondered if the shutter sound would scare them off (1D IV) but I think all the focus was on food for those few moments!
