Yup. That's the way it works on the X-T20 as well. I sort of wish it was just a touch more conservative, as it puts it right on the typical handholding limit. For instance, it chooses 1/34s when shooting with the 23mm. I'd prefer 1/40 or 1/50s, but overall, it's a good implementation, and what I leave it on most of the time.

Yeah I like it as well and will use it often. Perhaps they could parameterize the multiplier in the future so people could tune it to be more or less conservative. But if you only have one default setting I think 1.5 will work nicely.

has anyone tested the new view modes?
EVF Only + Sensor
Eye Sensor + LCD Image

First one seems to basically be like EVF only but the screen turns off when you remove your eye off it?
Then the 2nd one is also like EVF Only but when you remove your eye, you can review images or access menu on the LCD?

Finally had the chance to update my Firmware (had issues with the Lexar SD 64GB 600x card giving me Broken Firmware error message, successful with the Lexar 32GB 200x) and the 2 new view modes did not fully give what I wanted.

EVF Only + Eye Sensor basically is EVF only but it turns off when you take the camera off your face.
Menu is still accessible only through the EVF but reviewing photos is on the LCD now.

Eye Sensor + LCD Image (IMO) is useless and pointless. Basically it's Eye Sensor mode but when using the EVF and moving your face off the camera, it displays the last picture you have taken. All you can do is press Ok, can't even see the other photos.

worst part is since they haven't given the view mode I was hoping for, now I have to cycle through more view modes.
i wish there was a menu setting where i could select the view modes i want to use.

Guys, I never had a chance to update from ver 1.00 to 1.100 for my X-T2. Would like to update to ver 2.0 as this is a major one with some awesome features. So wanted to check if can I update from ver 1.00 to 2.00 or should I go ver 1.00 to 1.10 to 2.00? Not sure if the ver1.10 is baked into ver2.0 and where I can find it (ver1.10).
Thanks for your advise and sharing your experience. Appreciated.

You'll be fine updating straight to 2.00. Hurry up and get it!

Just update and tried the programable long exposure.
Confuse how to set the shutter speed down to the second ? The command dial only can set the minute jump from 2" - 4" - 6" - 8" - 15".
It will be difficult to use big stopper because usually the calcuated shutter speed comes in seconds fraction.

Anybody has figure it out ?

Turn the shutter speed dial to T and then rotate the back command dial until you get the shutter speed you are looking for. It now allows a max of a 15 minute exposure.

Correct, but you can't set any time you want. Greater than a minute your only choices are 2, 4, 8 & 15 minutes.

Info about #6: “AUTO” setting added for the minimum shutter speed in the ISO Auto setting The update adds an AUTO option for the minimum shutter speed in the ISO Auto setting, that allows the camera to automatically define the minimum shutter speed according to the focal length of the lens attached."

I was hoping this would work for non-Fuji lenses in cases where you've set the focal length of a lens in camera. I tested it and I don't think it works. That's a shame.

Loving the increase in exposures for bracketing and of course, control over ISO from the front command wheel. Kudos to Fuji for being a company that listens to its' customers. Now if they can only figure out how to make enough product to meet demand, they would be near perfect!

Right you are! When I did my original test it was in the evening. The 1/1.5xfocal length rule it uses when you set it to "Auto" is not a hard floor. If the camera maxes out ISO it will ignore the floor to ensure you get a properly exposed image.

I just tried it in daylight with some manual lenses. It works as I'd hoped. As long as you remember to tell the camera the focal length of your manual, non-Fuji lens it works like a charm. Way to go Fuji! This is genuinely useful.

Can anyone comment on the new smaller pinpoint single focus point. On my old 5d Mark III I would never use single shot. It would be continuous all the time and I'd just use the pinpoint focus point ...aim it at an eye and perfect focus all the time regardless if the subject was moving or not. The X-T1 is a bit lacking in this regard...just can't get that focus point small enough and it will often jump to the background, especially in continuous. If the pinpoint focus is there on the X-T2 now...along with these other upgrades...it may be time for me to jump...

OK, next nit...

If I want to use the rear command dial to control shutter speed, I only adjust it 2/3s of a stop either direction from what is selected.

It may sound that I only complain, but in general I like Fuji X-T2, so that's why I have it, and I want it to be even better.
I don't understand why it's so hard to make that menu system to preserve last chosen option. I play around something, and I go back into menu, which resets to the top again. This bothers me a lot...
Is it just me, or some of you don't like as well?

No, it's not just you. I was really surprised that issue wasn't addressed. Irritates me every time for the same reasons you state. Here's hoping for the May update...

I agree. My Sony's keep the position even if you turn the camera on and off which can be really useful at times

That's probably the only good thing on Sony menu system, everything else is upside down.
Just kidding, but kind of true...

for me it's the other way around, 2 second timer is the feature that I occasionally change on the X-T2 menu and I'm glad that when I turn off and on the camera it defaults back to off.

i've missed/delayed a couple of shots while shooting sony when i forgot that the camera was still in timer mode.

on the other hand i also lost/delayed some long exposure shots on the X-T2 when i forgot to set timer mode on again.

I have dedicated button for that function, it's so convenient.
