DPR is going to have to do another complete review with all these additions.

I think this is a great idea and was hoping it would catch on with reviewers. It's quite common with computers where feature releases will get reviewed for smartphones, laptops and pc's. It's a great way to keep people informed and drive traffic as well. Feature releases for imaging computers (camera's) operating systems is good for photographers

It's definitely a nice update. Some of the features already exist on the X-T20 (like the Auto shutter speed setting in Auto ISO and face detect with PDAF, plus the copyright info part), others are completely new. I hope the rest make their way to the X-T20 soon as well.

I'd definitely like to have the T mode to 15 minutes and the extended bracketing

Flashing the camera firmware now. Fuji sure makes it easy, and the updates are quite a good reason to stay with them.

The film simulation bracketing is going to be my "easy" favorite. Going to be amazing for snapshots and semi-serious stuff. Going to make jpeg shooting even better.

Just noticed that the auto setting for shutter speed in the Auto ISO profile seems to be setting the shutter to 1/(1.5 * focal length) when not constrained by ISO limitation. Seems like a useful feature, I often forget to first adjust the base shutter speed when going from a wide lens to telephoto. Great to have for telephoto & super telephoto zooms.

Just update and tried the programable long exposure.
Confuse how to set the shutter speed down to the second ? The command dial only can set the minute jump from 2" - 4" - 6" - 8" - 15".
It will be difficult to use big stopper because usually the calcuated shutter speed comes in seconds fraction.

Anybody has figure it out ?

Yup. That's the way it works on the X-T20 as well. I sort of wish it was just a touch more conservative, as it puts it right on the typical handholding limit. For instance, it chooses 1/34s when shooting with the 23mm. I'd prefer 1/40 or 1/50s, but overall, it's a good implementation, and what I leave it on most of the time.

Why can't I have the focus box display on the LCD prior to it locking focus?

If I turn on the camera and the display times out and the focus box disappears, I now have to guess at its position the next time I go to focus.

It should....I wonder if you have a display setting set oddly.

Can you test yours?

It displays in the EVF all the time, but if I want to shoot from the LCD, it becomes a pain.

Gah, figured it out.

I remembered the DISP/BACK acts as a "declutter" selector for the LCD. THe continuous display of the focus box is only available in the "always on" option. So, if I use the "sleep" setting, the focus box doesn't show up until focus locks or fails.

Still not the best solution.

has anyone tested the new view modes?
EVF Only + Sensor
Eye Sensor + LCD Image

First one seems to basically be like EVF only but the screen turns off when you remove your eye off it?
Then the 2nd one is also like EVF Only but when you remove your eye, you can review images or access menu on the LCD?

Any figured out how to do this one:

33. Function assignment to the Rear Command Dial
With the update, you can assign a specific function to be activated when the Rear Command Dial is pressed.

They will never make everyone happy, but one thing just makes sense, and they missed it.
I like this new EVF/LCD setup, so you get review on the back LCD with sensor activated, but...
Why do I have to push play button, using my left hand to keep browsing through my images, after last one is displayed on the LCD.
I should be able to do it just using my right hand, touching joystick or pad buttons.
That's how you do it on Nikon cameras, (not sure about Canon), you don't need an extra step.
But, it's nice that camera goes right into shooting mode as soon as you bring it to you eye, no need for another stoke...

Edit..
Fuji developers didn't pay enough attention to all the aspects for this implementation. Even if preview is ON, VF/LCD sensor is chosen, and you shoot looking to the LCD without activation sensor, no preview will happen at all. On top of that, if you shot looking through VF, preview will display on LCD, but if you want to scroll through some other images, you have to press display button, and that transition isn't smooth at all, and it's pretty slow and sloppy too.
They need to spend more time testing this and implementing it properly, it looks to me like a bad patching, so I'm quite disappointed!

That will be on the next firmware update (in May), not on the one released today.

If it's like the T-20 you have to use the menu, rather than the long press, since long press in MF mode for the default action switches focus aids.
