If you have this lens, how do you like it? Seems to be a FANTASTIC value! I am selling my D610 tomorrow to get some a Sony, and my 14-24 is just going to be too heavy for it - plus i don't need 2.8 and i don't really use 14-15mm that much.

As far as i can see, there probably isn't anything better out there in this focus range for the price? Plus the sunstar is superb, as is the ability to use filters once again.

thanks for any advice. I know i will use 24-35mm more than i will 14-15mm.

I have the 15-35 f4 IS and I also have the Sony 16-35 FE. I really love both lenses. If you are going with a split Sony/Canon system the Canon 16-35 f4 IS is a great choice.

If you are going with a Sony only system, you would probably be happier with the native lens and posting in the Sony forum.

yeah - wow those are great!

i am going with the Sony camera to be able to use different types of lenses. Plus Sony glass is not cheap.

Dustin -- I love it!

I use on my 5DsR, and on Sony's a7R and a7R2 with Sigma MC-11 AF adapter.

Best of class -- the low price is just a bonus.

That first image, Rob. Stunning.

I was going to recommend getting the native Sony if you're shooting Sony. It's a fantastic lens. But, the weaker part of the range is 28-35-- where it needs stopping down for crispness. The wider 2/3 of the range is remarkable wide open.

If you do any non-landscape shooting, the native AF features are also really nice.

The Canon lens seems to edge out the Sony in raw performance, notably towards the longer end. But you are likely to find that both lenses are up to the task-- in which case I still think the most sense is to get the native option depending on the sensor platform. Short of going to primes, these are both about as good as it gets in the range from a zoom on FF. You can't go wrong.

Do yourself a favour, process your 16-35 images with DPP using DLO and you will see a big improvement over LR, almost like the difference between AA or not. All my landscape shots are now being processed in DPP or DxO 11.

I was one of the first to buy the 16-35 f/4L IS and have used it almost daily as an editorial photographer. The center is about as sharp as the earlier versions but the critical edges and corners are head and shoulders superior.

It is very sharp, resistant to flare and the distortion and chromatic aberration are well-corrected. The IS function is solid and surprisingly useful. I can't count the number of times I've used it hand-held in dismal conditions and nailed good shots. Just about every owner is delighted with the 16-36 f/4L IS.

That said, the newest pricey 16-35 f/2.8L III is supposed to be even better! I don't need the f/2.8 speed at these focal lengths so won't be buying it, but Canon has really stepped up its game with these wide angles.

I have the EF 16-35 F/4L and it's a fantastic lens. It's my go-to lens and I use it all the time. I recently got a Sony and I use it regularly on the Sony as well. It's hair-splitting sharp. I recommend the MC-11 lens adapter, which has worked terrific, you almost forget that you're using Canon lenses on a Sony camera.
