And so we searched high and low and after months trudging through leech infested swamps, dodging mosquitoes as large as eagles we finally spotted the holy grail of mythical African creatures the warthopard...with the head of a warthog and hind quarters of a leopard it terrorizes any creature it comes in contact with. I count myself as incredibly lucky to have even caught a glimpse of the rarest of rare let alone captured this one image as it was sleeping.
Of course we also managed to see a few more mundane members of the cat family which I will also share but of course finding them didn't come close to the excitement one gets when you come face to face with a legend.

I have never seen this creature. I'm have a few weeks in the Kalahari later this year I will keep a lookout, but not too many leech infested swamps there. Also off to Kruger tomorrow hoping for some good shots, but Kruger was hit by a tropical cyclone a few days ago so water, water, everywhere.

Catman strikes again, loved the story and the buildup to the reveal...
Listen, if a cable channel can have multiple seasons of finding sasquatch I should be able to come up with one image that meets the Snopes seal of approval.

Ahhh - a cross between a warthog and a leopard captured by a cross between a photographer and a bull sh!tter. Another very nice set Eric ~ Ron
Thanks....but Ron you are a skeptic...I can't believe you didn't buy the story but I guess the moral is, if you can't wow them with brilliance, then baffle them with bull shit...it seems to be working quite well these days in high places.

It must be true, I saw it on the web...

Believe half of what you hear and less of what you read...and even less on the interwebs....you can't make this stuff up....or can you?

I hope you put some drops in that warthopard's eyes.
I always hated anything that sleeps with it's eyes open.

I was thinking more like a big apple in the mouth and some peri peri sauce.
