Let me guess: you were cruising down on 395 and then the light show began. You pulled over just before Bishop at the bottom of the long grade to Mammoth, set up the camera just in time and then thought "I want to live here"
I love that area and have been going back there since 1988, now almost 30 years. One day l hope to live there year round and do nothing but walk around with my camera 
Your a good mind reader... Actually you ID'd the location but I was a bit more deliberate. I spent 5-6 evenings at this location last winter waiting for some good lighting. I too love this area and have been traveling there since the late 80's as well. After living in several distant states and overseas for 25 years I'm now back in driving range and making the trip up to the Owens Valley frequently.
