On Valentine's Day my wife came up with an unexpected idea - "lets go birding". She wanted to return to the place of our first date, Croton, New York. I wasn't expecting many birds, as the reports have been that the eagles weren't coming down from Canada. We were pleasantly surprised, as there were a good number of eagles around (maybe locals). There were also Red-tails in the park. My wife took the fourth photo, of a red-tail take-off, with a Powershot camera; the results made her an enthusiastic birder. Now, she says that she wants to make birding a Valentine tradition!

Nicely done....amazing how close the eagles are to NYC.

Thanks for viewing, Eric. The eagles have come closer to NYC in the past. There have been many reports of eagles fishing near the George Washington bridge. I have even viewed an "immie" soaring high over the fields of Fort Tilden in Queens, New York.
