That first Anna's is gorgeous in the snow. I wonder how much they rely on feeders to survive, although the feeders would freeze, so likely they manage on whatever is about.

Well, yes, the feeders do freeze when the temps dip, but most dedicated Hummingbird caretakers here watch them closely and either bring the feeders inside overnite (when the temps dip) and some folks have adapted warming systems to keep them liquid. This winter has been unusually cold for my area.
* Also.. the feeders that folks keep filled are mainly responcible for these birds living here and as they are non migratory, it is the only way they can survive in Winter.
