I'm not sure such racy photos belong in N&W Geoff. But they are very well done with the next to last standing out ~ Ron
Thanks Ron

I hope Ron does not apply an executive order...

Thanks Pius....I needed to post in N&W just to get some replies....I think only one of these comments came from a Sports forum regular

Nice series Geoff. Since you've captured the start of the race, I think that you're now obligated to take some at the finish!
Thanks....I won't be travelling to Fairbanks. Every 2nd year the race is reversed and they end in Whitehorse but by then they are so spread out they come in at all sorts of random times like the middle of the night. I've never been motivated to go and get finishing shots. Maybe next year

These are wonderful. The dogs seem bred to the task. Reminds me of the Robert Service poetry. Thanks.
Thanks...these dogs love to run....they are so excited at the start of the race

Look at those pink booties - very enjoyable images, Geoff! I would love to photograph that event, too.... maybe one day.

Lots of comments on the booties. They are made by people in town and people sponsor the booties and write a message on them....the one I found on the walk back home after the race had a nice motivational saying written on it with a sharpie. I believe the mushers carry multiple sets as they do wear out and are lost over time.
I would thinks that the dogs' toenails would eventually punch a hole through those booties. Also I wonder how the dogs' traction is affected by those booties.
