Here are a few more photos from a wonderful trip to South Georgia Island and Antarctica in November. This time it's elephant seals, which are amazing creatures in almost every way. The adults dive deeper than any other mammal besides sperm whales, staying under for up to two hours. The youngsters can be amazingly cute, with huge, luminous eyes. The adults, especially the bulls, can be amazingly not-cute-at-all. All things considered they are really something to see.

They are all excellent shots, but the "bad attitude" caption made me laugh so I pick that as my favorite.

Thanks Dave. I promise you would not want to get into the middle of this kind of "bad attitude". These guys are seriously large. Standing between them I would have come up to about their necktie level, if that is a concept in the elephant seal universe.
