My first post here

Short eared owls photographed today at Leque Island in Stanwood, WA.

First day with my new D500 and 200-500 combo instead of using D810 with Tamron 150-600, happy with the results though I still have a long way to go to understand how the new AF characteristics better.

I like the inclusion of the surrounding for plenty of breathing room - great images!

Thank you Dave! The second one was my attempt at showing the owls in their habitat and how low they can fly while hunting.

Yes the location is amazing, I've been there many times over the past couple of years and have never come away disappointed.
