My wife and I spent Christmas day xc skiing at Crater Lake. Clear skies had me focusing on black and white conversions for most of the day (check out a few more colorful shots from the day over at the Landscape board). Kept it simple, shooting handheld with just two primes. These are all panoramas except #4. Would love to hear favorites or any other feedback.

Beautiful images and nice processing. I think the B&W treatment works really well for these.

Beautiful work!
I have lived in southwest Idaho for 23 years now but have never made the relatively short drive to check out the lake and surrounding area. Your images have given me incentive. Very well done and a beautiful part of Oregon!

I agree, the B&W images are truly stunning. Such a beautiful, pristine area.

Thank you. Crater Lake is worth the trip, especially in winter. Be sure to bring some skis or snowshoes though (or sign up in advance for one of the free weekend Ranger Guided Snowshoe Tours which provides snowshoes), otherwise you are limited to just a few views from the parking lot.

Thanks Lazlo. It really is one of the gems of the National Park system, especially in the winter.
