p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · New to Sony - questions

After using Nikon equipment for many years, I have decided to sell my stuff and go Sony. I don't do any really serious shooting any more. I just want some lighter and more portable.
For now I've pretty much decided to go with the a6000 body for starters. I see a lot bundled with the 16-50 and 55-210. Is this a good starter kit or should I be looking at other lenses? I will probably want to get a flash, too. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks...

What were your favorite lenses in your Nikon kit? Did you shoot APS-C or FF? What type of shooting do you plan to do with the a6000?

You will find the Sony Flash are Not all well liked.

So The Godox 685S is big powerful and woks at High sync Speeds, Also off camera if that is needed,

http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Camera_Flash_TT685S.html

If these are too big Metz will work with an adapter and is a bit better size for on camera.

The Nissin i40 is an awesome TTL flash for Sony (Google the reviews) and works with Air Commander if you want off camera flash too. More power ? Then buy the i60 instead. I've found the i40 more than enough for most situations and a great size for travel too.

The 16/50 will not impress anyone but it satisfies as a very small walk around. My personal kit is sigma 19, sony 35 and 50 plus the 18/200. Lens are solely lacking because Sony is putting all their lens energy on full frame (which can be used on aps-c size bodies since they are the same mount).

I ordered the 16-50/55-210 kit that came with some other extras (charger, extra battery, etc.) I also bought the Sigma 19 (older version) from a FM member. I'll try these out before I venture into other lens purchases.

Still researching flashes. Right now looking at Neewer MK 320 and Nissin i40. I don't want anything that will be too top-heavy.
