Spent a mostly cloudy and or rainy week in Maui. But better than the cold and wet of Portland! Therefore, no complaints! With a nice sunrise and whales, absolutely no complaints. And clouds made for more dramatic although less colorful sunsets.

I like #2 a lot, that works well. I wish #1 was a tighter shot, or there was less water at the bottom of the shot and more clouds at the top.

The crop of the whale shot looks a lot better I think. It helps focus the shot on the whale.

Great shots- my wife & I spend 2 weeks in Wailea every November...this is the first year we saw whales from the beach...never at sunset though, and never timed that well. Did you see him/her breaching & just try to time it or was it completely random?

Was following whale and just kept shooting and trying to anticipate using rapid fire of course. BTW, this shot was at Sunrise.😉
