What a nice early Christmas gift from Mother Nature! Big congrats on getting some real nice shots of a most amazing bird. The first and last are my pix picks. Hopefully this is just the first of many opportunities.

Great image like the contrast with the moss. I've only had one sighting of these birds in my parents woods upstate NY. By the time I grabbed my camera they were gone.

Thanks Eric. We saw them while on a walk with our grand daughter. It was awhile before I went back with my camera gear, but there were in the same area, so hopefully I'll get to see them again.

Yes, lucky you Ron. I've seen them occasionally, but seldom with photo ops. We had one yesterday outside the kitchen window on a snag for about 20 minutes, poor light though. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks Don. The location was pretty good! Mossy PNW trees present great perches.
