It was the end of my shoot at Oakland Lake on December 3 and I was walking out when I heard a helicopter in the distance. I looked up and spotted this so I quickly planted my tripod and started photographing the NYPD helicopter as it began to orbit over nearby Alley Pond Park. Then there was the sound of sirens and the next thing I knew two park police were walking quickly past me. One looked at me and said "Good afternoon, a good show for you." and continued past me. Eventually they all left and I have no idea what was going on.
The last is a huge crop as they were quite far away. The atmosphere was turbulent so it's not as sharp as I'd like yet I'm sharing the photo as I like the view with the crew visible.

Interesting shots - I think of the Superman intro: It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a .... take it's picture anyway. It is a "whirly bird"
You have some interesting photos in in your "other" folder too. I really like the one of the sound barrier being broken.
Thank you Raeburn,
That photo of the vapor chone (transonic flight) is one of my faverate photos.
