I finally purchased a flash bracket to use with a 600mm lens. However, when I mount it on my Sidekick the flash is 1.25 inches short of being centered over the lens. RRS has no remedy but thinks it is not an issue. Most of my work is in the 10-20 yard range. What do you Better Beamer users think?

The better beamer is not a precision instrument though it does through light at about the same FOV as a 200mm lens. 600mm is much tighter and should land inside the circle if a little off center which will help create a bit of shadow. If concerned, try it on a wall.

Good idea, Morris. I was going to experiment with some back yard birds but testing inside should work even better. Thanks.

Recently I bought the MagMod wildlife kit. I like how easy it is to attach and carry in a bag.

+1 love the MagMod. Does not fall off the flash. I find it easier to control the amount of light as well.

I am not familiar with using a side kick. What I did to put the flash further down , was get a 6" rail , attach it to the lens foot and then attach the bracket.
