I had a chance to visit Bowling Ball Beach last weekend, and was treated to some nice conditions. Here are a few shots and any thoughts are welcome.

Rocks and water motion at the peak of sky color

Surf hitting the rocks a little before sunset

Looking down the coastline as the sky darkens

Submerged rocks in fading light

Great set, cool you got such sweet light here. I like the comp of 4 best and 1 is a bit saturated for my taste, but not too over the top by current landscape standards.

Very nice set. I like all of them. I think #1 is a better version of #4.
I visited there a few years ago & didn't capture as well as you.

Great shots and lighting. Is the makeshift ladder down to the beach better maintained or is it still somewhat of a scramble the last few feet down to the beach?

Thanks Dan. I've been there many times (my parents live close by) but these were easily the best conditions I've had.

The ladder/stairs have recently been repaired and are currently in good shape. Of course, one good storm could take care of that...

Thanks - I aimed for the tides and got lucky with the light.

Nice photos Kyle. I like the first 3 better than the last one, it doesn't have as strong of a comp.

I like that #3 image a lot because you can see the curve of the rocks and the beautiful light reflected in each one. This is all because you are shooting perpendicular to the sun rays, or getting side lighting.

Great set...voted...that place is on my list for 2017...planning an early spring trip to CA and Bowling Ball Beach is on the agenda...
