Thanks so much to all that replied; no matter how much time I spend looking and thinking about landscape images from other FM members, it's incredibly helpful to see how folks respond to one's own attempts. These were mostly from midday when it was pretty gray, and the default LR processing of the raw files was pretty dull (hence my earlier concern).

What a magical place, and you did it justice! Wonderful series.
Thanks, Fred! (I'm still fiddling with some of the canyon images and will put those up later).

Some of the best I've seen from there, great job.
Thanks so much, Stan; very much appreciated.

Hi Greg,
The sky looks great in all of these, but the ground layer feels flat in each of them. Are you using a layer mask to process the sky separate from the ground layer?
Jim
Jim, you're spot on...I applied quite a bit of clarity/mid-tone contrast to all of these, and treated the sky and ground separately. In hindsight, I think I protected the extremes a bit too much in the ground.

They don't look "pushed" at all to me. As a matter of fact, I think they look as natural as I've seen in quite a while for desert sandstone landscapes. I'd probably saturate the color a bit more personally, but as far as realistic, they are right on.
Nice job.
Thanks, Craig! I will give that a go (push the saturation/contrast in the ground a bit more).

Nice set of the iconic place. Other than a bit over-sharpened on top swirl rocks, everything is in track!
Yup...I see that also. (Thanks).

I will agree with Craig here. While I would give a little more life to the ground layer as I suggested, I do agree that these are among the most natural looking I have seen in a while too, so kudo's for that.
Jim
Now I'm worried! (Will post an update later to see if I can find the overcooking threshold).

Hi Greg, Although I won't be able to speak to the technical aspects of your images like others on this forum... I do know what I like, and I like these a lot.
#1 is really well seen and my favorite. I love the spotlight effect, and the nice balance of swirls between sky and rock. Beautiful.
#3 is my second favorite, very cool patterns and texture.
#4 is also an excellent composition, love the leading lines of the rock, and the clouds are perfect.
Really well done and a pleasure to view.
Kirk
Kirk, what a nice surprise to see another N&V refugee! (I really enjoy fiddling with landscape; it's a nice complement to those avian subjects that we both love so much).

I see nothing that would leave me with the impression that you pushed your shots.
In a nutshell you have produced a beautiful set here.
Thanks, Jred!
