p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Adapter for chipped Nikon lens (manual focus) on Sony A7/A7r

There are adapters for fully controlling Nikon lenses (aperture, auto focus, etc.). That's overkill for me because my lenses are manual focus! I'm using Voigtlander Nikon mount (SL II) lenses that are chipped. Currently I use dumb adapters. I'd like to be able to get EXIF information from the lens, which requires a smart adapter of some kind.

I can't find any. Are they out there? If not I guess my only option is a "full control" adapter (for a lot more money).

I have one...a bit complicated using an adapter F to EF then on a EF to E mount. Two adapters work perfectly except the EXIF data is not correct

There's nothing that I know of. Don't get me wrong, it'd be neat, but I don't expect there will ever be such an adapter, given the size of audience. A smart adapter will cost a lot more money than a dumb adapter, but hopefully the impact on battery would be minimal, given that the adapter isn't powering an AF motor.

Thanks arduluth. I think you're right because most people are after the autofocus. It's a shame because manual Zeiss ZF.2 and Voigtlander lenses in the Nikon mount are both "chipped" and could talk to the camera with the right smart adapter. From what I can see the Vello and Comlite adapters that are available are still flaky (and still expensive) so I will have to wait some more.
