It has been almost 2 months since I have been able to get out to the Bonne Carre Spillway. It was true joy to be out with the snowies today. I witnessed some fishing behavior I had not seen from them before. They were flying low over the water trying to catch small shad . Quite entertaining . Unfortunately my 500mm was not long enough for any really decent shots of the fishing as they were too far from me . However, I did manage a few in-flights in the gorgeous afternoon setting light. Still, not as close I as would have liked, but still lots of fun.

Your comments, suggestions, nits and crits are most appreciated.

I do hope you enjoy, as I had a blast with them today.

1. I loved the reflection on this one in that wonderful late light

What a nice set, birdie! The egrets are such elegant fliers and you captured that in these pictures. I especially like the lighting and mood of #4; all the best elements come together in that once for me.

Thanks so much Kim. It is really amazing how the low light just makes the water color change. Earlier in the day it was just this dull gray water

The first is very pretty Roberta and the second a great fishing photo. You were close enough for that one. The last is a very pretty environmental.

Thanks Karl. Pano does not come naturally for me , maybe I am just a bit of a square

So glad to see that you got out and got to photograph some of your special subjects....beautiful as always. So glad Karl suggested the pano crops...they are marvelous.
