Another location that the workshop attended was Schoolhouse Falls in the Panthertown Gorge area of North Carolina. When we got to the trailhead, there were several cars in the parking area. I thought that there would be a zoo at the falls. But apparently this area is very popular for backcountry style camping and there are trails leading off everywhere to campsites and whatnot. As we went down the trail, I could see how easy it would be to get lost with all these side trails and no signage to speak of. I know I would not try to go back to the falls without someone who knew their way in and out. Very confusing. When we got to the falls, we were the only ones there. Apparently all the other cars were for campers who were camping elsewhere. The fall itself was at low flow, but there was some decent fall color around. It would be cool to see this one at better flow. Here are some images that I took at this location. Hope you like them. I appreciate any suggestions and comments.
These are all good, Jim, especially with the fall colors. There are about six or seven waterfalls accessed from that parking area, so people can really spread out. Again, the flow is better in the Spring, but there's less color.
Nice work on #2, that one really stands out. Getting those leaves in focus in the upper right corner really helps make this shot (plus the lack of sky).
