There is a lovely quality to the background blur in this set: a light grain, a glow, textures that vary shot to shot. Sometimes, the colors of the background complement your subject and at times they are a bit strong in my opinion. The fine detail of the nuthatch stands out for me and the bright orange of its belly plumage helps to make it more dominant than the background. The big orange area in the background of 2 and 3 I feel overwhelms the bird. Its plumage is similar in color and brightness and gets swallowed up a bit. In the robin there is more of a balance but I might tone down the saturation a little overall, maybe darken the background a notch. Now the rich, deep browns of the squirrel provide a very nice balance with the lighter background. Great pose and detail. The deer image has a very rich texture to the background. The shot may be leaning to the painterly in terms of saturation. I might either drop that back or try a black and white. Sometimes removing color reveals fine detail and patterns. There is the question of cropping its legs. Too late to fix that. I might add a light vignette to remove attention from the edges. My two cents.
