The ID is correct. Both images look great. The sky has a nice color (a few clouds would have helped) and detail look clean and sharp.
I like the first shot best. In the second one that limb in front of the bird face is annoying IMO. I would clone it out to make the shot look better.

Starlings are beautiful birds, no matter how annoying they can be. I like both of them.

Both images are very good, Maybe a nod to the first as Socrate says. I know that starlings have some color and white spots, but around here they mostly appear to be black. Maybe a regional difference. We have thousands around here.

Ben, the white spots are the tips of new feathers they grow in Fall (a different way of molting). By Spring those spots will worn away and the feathers will show some beautiful iridescence.

No Socrate the white spots are camo for the white wood They look like porcupines to me like this, lots of character, fine shots Scott!
