This Verreaux's Eagle Owl had caught some poor bird and all that was left was a bit of thigh and leg. The foot hanging down reminded me of a talisman and I suspect in societies that fear or are superstitious regarding owls this would not be a good omen.

Nice shot Eric. I feel I'd rather see this one in color. I find that the owl is lost in the background and it was hard to even make out the dangling foot.

Looks good to me, sort of a "picture find" challenge.
Actually I like this in B&W (did I really say that). It shows you the difficulty most prey have in seeing their attacker when it is still in the trees.
