Nice deals available on the APC-C version with the Sigma 30/1.4, but nada on the H version, which I could be interested in.

Thanks Tariq—with so many cameras being released (and so many good ones with conventional sensors) I am wondering if it will be of much interest when it does land. Still, keeping my eye on it.

I emailed Sigma USA a few weeks ago and asked about the dpQ H and the response I received was "no release date known at this time" (more or less).

I did not receive any hints at all about an upcoming November/December release timeframe in the response to my inquiry.

I have read chatter elsewhere that indicates 1Q 2017... but none of it was substantiated.

The currently available sd Q seems to have issues getting warm during operation, and given the sensor size increase going to APS-H, I am curious if there will be any changes.

November/ December is what a few folks were told by Sigma at Photokina. Here is one account:

"The Sigma guy at photokina told to me that they want to offer the camera within Nov./Dez.16 and that, if you want to use an serie DC objective, the camera will automatically switch from APS-H to APS-C"

I also hope that it is released "as perfect as possible".

Given a choice, I'd probably pick a Merrill version if it was available.

Hi Kit, from what I have read, the price appears to be around $1299 U.S.

Surprised to read about the native DNG raw support. That could be a big deal for users given Sigma's track record with raw software. I will be very curious to see if a Sigma DNG raw is as good as a native Sigma raw format file processed in Sigma Photo Pro because there is a lot of extra processing and "massaging" that occurs with Sigma raws.

That seems like a very reasonable price, don't you think? And I have owned a few Sigma cameras (both the DSLR and the DP and DP Merrill types) and they are well built, at least. I will be in tested to see the reviews.

I am surprised to hear about DNG support too; there is a LOT of massaging going on in those files, but SPP is hardly anyone's fave processor!

Yes, if that price turns out to be correct, I think it very reasonable. I have also owned many Sigma cameras and found the build quality a noticeable step above most of the Sony's I have owned.
