Yes, that is a different adapter. The fusion is full-frame and has a cut-out inside that is the same shape as the Metabones IV. I am using this with the 11-24mm now. There is no vignette at 11mm.

Interesting and a welcome development. Now, to see how well it performs in the field. Also, this will be in direct competition with the Sigma MC-11.

THX for clearing this up.
I didn't think about the video being for the older version. I think I'm going to give this a shot mostly for usage with he Canon 11-24. I recently invested in 3 Breakthrough ND filters for my lens line up(which are awesome), but I had no option for the 11-24 unless I bought a 3 ND kit solely for that lens and very costly with either Lee Big Stopper or the Fotodiox WonderPana kits.

engardeknave, are you happy with the results you are getting with the ND throttel and the 11-24mm?

I've only taken two test shots with it so far. I can't say if there are going to be any issues yet.

I ordered mine, Excited to have something for the 11-24. I hope the quality lives up to my breakthrough filters.

Hey guys, can anyone comment on the AF performance yet? If this can do double duty as a landscape adapter for ultra wides and also a wide aperture outdoor portraiture adapter with AF, I'm in.

How about one of these a with built-in polarizer with a little thumb wheel for adjusting the polarization.

I have this adapter and use it on my Zeiss ZE lenses for videography. Optically it seems very good. Causes some flare but does not appear to degrade sharpness.

Other than some lubricant leakage and a slightly tight ND adjustment ring (for my taste), it is pretty solidly built. Not immovable but play is acceptable focusing my 600-700g lenses.

Good investment.

I agree with your assessment. I just tested it with my TS-E 17mm f/4L and flare/ghosting is my main complaint. Color cast and overall IQ is actually very good. There is a slight warm color cast though.

Perhaps the ND filter is not multi-coated. I would pay even more to remove the flare/ghosting issue with a better coated filter. My square Lee filters (glass) are way better in this regard.

There are 6 strength settings and they work like this:

Setting 0 = 2 stops
Setting 3 = 3 stops

So, from 0 to 3 you only gain 1 stop.

Setting 4 = 4 stops
Setting 5 = 5 stops

After here, every 0.25 strength setting gives you 1 stop:

Setting 5.25 = 6 stops
Setting 5.5 = 7 stops
Setting 5.75 = 8 stops

After this, the filter looks awful. I highly recommend not passing the 5.75 setting

Setting 6 = 9 stops

There is lubricant leakage on my copy as well but after a few clean-ups, it seemed to stop.

I mainly use this lens for landscapes and the increase in flare and loss of contrast when a light source hits the lens is big negative for me. The Smooth Reflections App is a better option whenever flare is a possible issue.

Fotodiox claims that having the vari ND behind the lens instead of in front eliminates the dreaded X. All I can say is I never saw the X in my use of the old one.

There does seem to be a change with the new one; the old one was claimed to be a 1-10 stop ND, while the new one is a 1-8 stop ND.

There is a slight magenta cast with the old one, but I found it not too difficult to clean up. I just haven't used it much since it's such a pain to pre-set the aperture on

I know they claimed 10 stops but the older version (without the electronic contacts) was also 8 stops. I think the ND filter is basically identical. I tested them side by side and there is no difference. They both flare if a light source is around or in the frame. When shooting during dawn or dusk, this is not an issue.

I should also note that the Fotodiox adapter is one of those that reset aperture to wide open every time you open it up, causing a disruptive sound and flicker. Stopping down works in normal increments.

I just bought the Kipon Canon EF Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera With Integrated ND Filters Auto Focus Lens Adapter and will test it against the Fotodiox Fusion.

I'm hoping it will have better flare performance.

I will consider one of these two and will wait for your review, Fred . BTW, both do transmit the lens data, right?

Yes, the Fotodiox Fusion is fully electronic and according to the specs, the Kipon does it as well.

I've picked up the fotodiox, and will have to test it for flare in landscape use - thanks for the heads up Fred. I can say, however, that it seems to autofocus well with newer lenses - my canon 50 stm, sigma 24 art, and tamron all perform well. My older sigma 70-200 (non os) has been unreliable.

Took it out for a little outdoor portairt shoot with flash, and it was so convenient to be able to dial in just the right exposure to stay under the flash sync speed. If it holds up for landscape use on my ultrawides I'll be really happy.

I tested autofocus on the Tamron 24-70 2.8 OS and Canon 24-70 2.8 v1 on the Fotodiox Fusion ND. Autofocus was barely functional and unusable in practice.

I use only manual Zeiss ZE lenses on the Fotodiox.

This one is very interesting too and you can use your own very high IQ ND filter on it. It also accepts variable ND filters, polarizers and grads.

Did the OWL ever come out?

No electronic contacts means having to set focal length for IBIS manually.

Waiting for someone to make an OWL with contacts.
