If you mount the adapter, and look at the "body firmware" on the Sony, it will show the firmware of the TAP as "Lens firmware.". I just got mine last week from Amazon, and it was firmware 3.0, so I think that's what they're shipping with. It was easy to upgrade, with my Samsung Android phone. I think folks are having more trouble with Iphones. For Android, just go to the Play Store, download the app, and click on "upgrade adapter", after connecting via bluetooth. (There was no password or code required, just showed up on the phone's bluetooth.) Oh, there was a required procedure to get the bluetooth to show up, I think power up, snap a photo and power down. It's clearly expressed in the included TAP instructions. It took a while, 10-15 minutes, just be patient.
Firmware 4 is working great with my Leica Lux 35, Chron 75, and LM Zeiss Biogon 21. Like others have said, about like a slower native EF lens. Amazing.
