Will I be able to use the TAP with the ( Nikon F-Leica M) adapter to AF my Voightlander Nokton 58 F1.4 ?

I don't see why not. While I love the TAP, they are charging quite a premium on the adapters.. you can get the same adapter for cheaper on eBay, they're just selling the Leicaist brand adapters.

ALSO.. I have theory on the battery drain. I saw it right after upgrading to v4, overnight I went to 0% (from like 20-30%). I switched to a new battery and no drain this morning (still at 100% over night). I don't think it's the battery, but actually *removing* the battery which finally cuts power to the adapter/BT module and resets it into 'off' mode.

So I guess the test would be to do F90 / shot / power off, power on / F2, shoot, then power off and leave it.. and monitor battery change over a few hours.. and then do it again, except after the final power off, take the battery out and put it back in, and then monitor battery change.

Hmm...
What to do with c/y lenses?
One option is to store with c/y to E adapters and Sony caps. I already have the c/y to E for each lens, ready to use witout TechArt, but requires a bit of fiddling to install c/y to m and then TechArt ...

Another is to get a separate c/y to M for each lens, and store with M caps
another is to get a c/y to M AND an M to E for each; ready to us pe and easier to change (but likely worse than just one adapter)

Abd, of course, there's getting multiple tech arts .... But once you throw in OM stuff that way madness lies...

Okay ordered 3 Sony rear caps and another Fotosy m to e their 13 dollars. So now I will use cap and adapter as my rear protect. Plus if I'm in a hurry I could just use the Fotosy without the tech art plus this adds another backup adapter. I can store my Zeiss caps and I'm only dealing with Sony rear caps.

I will use the dedicated hoods for the 35 and 50 ZM but a generic hood for the 85 the one with it is too long for me. I just use a 43mm screw in.

That's what I do.. I just leave the c/y to e on the lenses. I don't have enough CY rear caps to leave them 'naked', but I bought a whole boatload of E mount rear caps to have extras of. I don't have 1:1 for MD / FD to E adapters so right now those lenses are on a shelf without rear caps and I've got a can of compressed air I use from a distance to (hopefully) remove any dust that accumulated before mounting the lens.

It is kind of a frustrating mess though, and XYZ -> M adapters are just not as cheap as the CY/MD to E ones unfortunately. I may bust out the ol' label maker and assign each the caps to lenses properly.. I always spend ~5 minutes sorting through lenses trying to figure out caps and which are missing, and which should go where.

so...M mount newbie question. The lens/adapter is supposed to lock in and pop up that little tab, right? I bought the Fotodiox M42 to L/M adapter, and it does not lock in or pop the tab up. I am assuming that is not the way it is supposed to be.

I have both the Leicaist purchased from Techart, eBay Liecaist (about half the cost) as well as inexpensive other-branded adapters from Amazon and eBay that seem to work well.
Just make sure you get the type with the deep horizontal hook-shaped cutout - which is obvious in a photo of the adapter.

Same experience here, so far.

One or two of my adapters need a slight bit of additional fiddling/pressure (toward the camera body) to lock into place (manufacturing variation, etc).

FWIW.

So, you can turn the lens without any resistance after being mounted then? You are not supposed to be able to do that if it works properly. The little tab is a safety lock to make sure that you don't accidentally turn the lens out of its mount.

yeah, I put as much pressure on it as I could without wanting to risk it being permanently stuck on there. Basically, I turn the adapter enough so that it stays in place with just the pressure I put on it. But, it only turns a little bit and and does not lock. Looks like I need to get a different adapter.

With any additional adapter one also needs to check whether one can reach infinity focus.

I have the same Fotodiox adapter.. The adapter (m42-M) screws on, no locking/popping.. it just is tight. When I screw entire lens + m42->M adapter onto the TAP, the little TAP tab clicks into place, no issues.

This may very well be M42 lens dependent though.. My Helios 44M-2 works fine, my Super Tak 55 1.8 has a flange where I can't even turn the focus ring after it's mounted to this adapter. I've had that problem before, it's not TAP related, it's the M42 adapter that's the problem.

So I guess long story short, try another M42 lens and see what happens.. but my Fotodiox M42-M and TAP work fine together when using most M42 lenses.

IMO there are only 2 ways to go to make it simple with SLR lenses.

1. Buy all the same mount lenses, (for instance all Canon FD) and have one __>LM adapter that stays glued to the LMEA7. This makes sense if you will use those lenses also with a film camera. If you have an oddball lens then maybe another middle adapter.

2. Just buy __>LM adapters for all your lenses and buy a ton of LM rear caps from china.

Originally I was going to do #1 but ended up with #2.

One thing for sure is if you have mixed lenses you will end up with a serious rear cap problem.

I had to mark mine with a white paint pen just to keep them all straight-.

A couple of CY 35-70 shots of Claudia using the TAP. Not in perfect focus, but still keepers for me.

For me using two cheap Fotosy m to e adapters plus Sony rear caps looks to be a good solution the Fotosy adapter goes on and off easily like a rear cap so It makes the most sense.

I just checked my filter scene riot I have 43-52, 46-52, 49-52 step ups and a Breakthrough CPL 52mm So I can use this on my Loxia 21 and my three ZM lenses 35,50 and 85. I just need a good 52 ND and I'm setup up great.

Quick question for all.

I have a Canon 50 F0.95 that has been converted to M-mount, is their anyone that has this lens-adapter combination? I'm curious if the lens barrel will clear the adapters motor housing.

From your android device, click on the link below:
http://techartpro.com/0831-LM-EA7-Config.apk

Install the app and then use the same procedure to update the firmware to change the pre-programmed aperture configuration.
