But you can't take TAP off when on tripod. Is that correct. My modified Sunway that's the only thing I can't do. For 20 bucks I'll order the one above for kicks.

Got my TAP out of the mail box early this morning.. updated the firmware to v4 and am loving that all my legacy glass now auto focuses.. Completely AMAZING.

Holy Moly.
Using a battery that didn't previously drain overnight, I'm seeing a 74% level after about 12hrs - 25% drain overnight from a fresh battery, with the camera off.

The adapter also refused to AF for about a dozen attempts (pre-focusing, choosing subjects at different distances, focusing on horizontal vs. vertical areas of high contrast etc didn't make a difference).
Eventually, the AF square appeared and the adapter started working.

Assuming this isn't some sort of anomaly, whatever was broken in v4, needs fixin'.

I would take the system through its paces for a day or two, fully charge it and then see what happens.

On that L bracket the tripod mount hole is farther back.

I can remove the LMEA7 adapter with the camera mounted on my tripod.
A different tripod may or may not work.

I have a battery grip attached, so attaching or removing the adapter is not a problem.

That one from Ebay looks very similar to the Sunwayfoto L-bracket. It looks like a copy.

I don't understand why more people aren't freaking out over how awesome this thing is.. This a massive leap in functionality for a7(r)ii owners. Does the president know? Someone should probably tell him.. :P

Got it 15 minutes ago. I am blown away. Just did a few test frames on my Helios 40 to check it out. This lens is really tough to focus manually. Wow. Just wow.
