Has anyone any tips on processing in C1 pro high ISO shots from the A7R11 & Batis 25. I was at a family christening at the weekend and all of the interior shots look a little mushy or soft. C1 is showing them as in focus. Even the shots where i used a small Metz 26-1 fill-in flash are not much better. All of the exterior shots are tack sharp. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Noise reduction in C1Pro is useless. Get NIK Dfine and use it from C1 or get a trial of DxO Optics Pro 11 or Lightroom, all these have superior noise reduction.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have NIK Dfine but have never used it. How do I use it from C1 or find an option in C1 preferences to use it ? I cannot see how to import the image to NIK Dfine. BTW I have Lightroom as well but all of the images look much better in C1. Maybe the profile is better and this has been my experience since getting the A7r11. I rarely use LR now.

Just right click the thumbnail in the filmstrip and choose "Edit with..." which will prompt you for the format to export to and the app you want to export to... Choose Dfine and use TIFF 8-bit (there's some bug with exporting 16-bit). C1P will then open Dfine and you can edit and save and the TIFF file will be in C1P when you're done.

Thanks for the tips, virtualrain.
Is any one of those alternatives better than the others?

I have had excellent experience with Lr CC, latest updates. In the past Lr/PS sharpening algorithm was somewhat ordinary, but has improved dramatically.

I have posted this shot before, but this was at 6400 ISO with Batis 25 and A7rII handheld. This was PP'd in Lr with using Noise reduction, luminescence setting of 20 and detail 80 works really well with the A7rII.

I think LR and DxO have superior NR but are no replacement for Capture One Pro as a general RAW converter but that's largely a personal, if not religious debate . So if you're committed to C1P, DFine is good enough and allows for local adjustments which can be helpful and it integrates nicely using the "Edit with..." C1Pro.

Thank you both, Charles and virtual. I've been using C1Pro and adjusting my shooting decisions to avoid generating noise. I didnt realize it was a weak point of C1Pro, only that I really didn't like the high ISO results I had gotten when I tried. It will be really, really helpful to have a little more ISO leeway. Thank you.

Love the way the reddish pavement balances against the blue sky in this one.

Thanks everyone for these tips. I will try both of them later this evening.
