p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A few more from Glacier National Park

Just a few more from my 2000+ mile road trip that ended yesterday. Was an incredible trip with my son and I've decided I'm in love with Glacier.

And one extra shot. We stopped at Palouse Falls to set up camp for the night. Was too tired to drive on so was a nice stop. Plus I had never been there so checked it off the list.

Hey Jacob,

#4 is my favorite from a technical standpoint. #2 is my favorite of the first 3, but each of the 1st three suffer from one issue, what we call the Polarizer Blob in the sky. You will see the sky is darker in the center then on the edges. It can be corrected in Photoshop with using a layer mask to lighten the darker part of the sky and then darkening the lighter portions all slightly so in the end, the sky has a more normal gradiation.

Jim, thank you for the feedback. I truly appreciate it and see exactly what you're talking about. I'd have to go back and check but that blob must be a result of a gradient filter in LR as there was no CP used. I'm dang near positive it is due to my editing. Those were all shot with a Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 (cheap lens) that has served me well but I'm suspecting something about applying the lens profile to remove distortion does that. I'll work on fixing it.

Shot #4 is one of my least favorites and that could be due to the fact I know where the flaws are in my opinion. The bottom 1/3 of the image has quite a bit of PS work in it and I'm not the greatest at doing so.

HI -
Wondering if you used the 8mm lens on any of these - I like them all -
Oh - I see where you say you used 12mm -
Still like both the pictures, and the area -
Paul
