I believe this to be a small robber fly sucking the life out of an aphid. The light was fairly strong, from behind the subject.

Robber Fly Feeding On Aphid: I think I've heard the saying, "Life sucks, and then you die." Kinda fits the image here.

Nice image, well photographed, and I like the narrative that goes with it. The composition with all the empty space contributes to the loneliness of the backlit subject. Everything works well.

Thank you very much John. I was thinking about all that empty space when composing the shot. I moved in closer, but preferred this one.
