Well it is no surprise that the D500 took a liking to you I pretty much figured by what I was seeing and hearing that it was quite a body by Nikon. Nice to hear that you too approve, that pretty well clinches it for me that it is as good as I see and hear.
Long long ago I had Nikon..............they say history repeats itself..............we will see
Wonderful work my friend and the cropper on the LB is outstanding, congrats on your lifer!

Super set, Kirk! I'm really glad for you that you've been able to upgrade your gear over time, but you've demonstrated over a long period of time that your skills and eye for composition are what allow you to create compelling images, regardless of which camera and lens you're using. Looking forward to seeing more of your work with any camera .

Stunning set, Kirk! You and the gear make for a winning combo and it looks like you've got a good variety of BIF subject matter. I look forward to seeing more!
Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much Kim, I really appreciate your very kind words. Yes, I'm loving this combo and we're fortunate to have a very nice variety of birds here in SoCal year-round.

Gesh D, these are fantastic. So what you're saying is that you'll be getting even more great shots with this new camera of yours? Doesn't seem fair.
Can't wait for more.

Hahaha! Just trying to keep up with you H. Be good.

Congrats on your new camera, Kirk. These look absolutely great! All properly exposed, in focus and with clean and sharp detail. Well done!

Thank you Socrate, really appreciate your very gracious words. I still prefer the RAW files from my D810, but the AF system and 10 FPS make the D500 a joy to shoot BIF.

Yes, for a crop body Nikon has clearly hit a home run with the D500. I still prefer the RAW files from my D810, but the AF system and 10 FPS make this a dream camera for BIF... and being able to have a 750mm FOV with the bare 500 is also really nice.
Thanks for the good words buddy, hope all is good with you.
