If you saw the weather report, you would have laughed that I might drive 2.5 hours, and then hike 12km uphill, all hoping for some good light. Most of the night, it was socked right in, but I kept getting out of my bivvy every hour or so, waiting for things to change. The clouds came right back after sunrise.

Mt Colonel Foster sits at Landslide Lake on the Elk River Trail in Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island. It is the fourth highest peak on the Island at 2,135m.

Hey Jeremy,

What a cool location and way to go with following your gut feeling and hiking out there.

These are interesting and it's great to see the progression in conditions and light culminating in #3.

I just bought a bivy sack this spring, can't beat the weight. I really like your shots, they look like they were taken on different days, great to have changing light. My eyes enjoy those pieces of wood underwater in the 1st shot. Wonder if they could be featured more in another comp?

Very nice feel to these. You could also get some very interesting shots with a wider FL (IMO).
