This was morning one in the Del Norte Redwoods SP, and it gave the best foggy redwoods I've seen yet. The rhododendrons were past peak, but there was one that stood out. It's fortunate that the air was so still with the shutter speeds needed...C&C welcome and appreciated!

Wow Tim! What sweet conditions you had there. #2 and 3 are my favorites. #1 is nice, but the other 2 I think are really great.

#2 is just stunning, the light is soft, and there's such depth from the rhododendrons in the f/g to the redwoods in mid and b/g!

Definitely #2 for me followed by 3and then 1. The composition in #2 is venry nice. Well done.

I have been on the damnation Creek Trail, but never with fog. You had excellent conditions and you captured them well.

Great moody views with bright greens and a dabbling of flowers.
Making sense of a redwood forest for a nice comp is not easy even if the light is decent.

Nice light and fog, but I'm wishing the trees weren't so cut off. The scale of these majestic trees is lost as a result. I know how hard it is to capture these forests from my time living in Humboldt.

Heron, I'm not sure what I could do differently in handling the redwoods. By their very nature you cannot capture their massive height unless you have a permit, and very expensive climbing gear. I think the best I can do is show them at their best with fog, green, and some sense of scale.

Hi Tim, obviously it's really difficult to fit a whole redwood tree in the frame but there are plenty of ways to get a bit more of the scale, like pointing your camera up or finding locations that offer a bit longer view, e.g.
